Thalmässinger Landgasthof | Hotel, Restaurant, Café, Biergarten

If you're visiting Thalmässing for the first time, you'll immediately be struck by the beauty of our region. Surrounded by the Franconian Lake District, on the edge of the Altmühl Valley, Thalmässing is the perfect location for visitors who enjoy walking, long hikes or bike tours.

Sporting activities

The administrative district of Roth is famous as a triathlon region, and hosts the Datev Challenge Ultra Triathlon as well as the Rothsee Triathlon. We are centrally located on the bike route and just under 20 minutes from the start and finish lines.

There are also plenty of well-maintained bike paths for those who enjoy cycling for fun. Thalmässinger Landgasthof is around 100 meters from the "Gredl-Radweg" bike path, a disused railway line that has been paved for cyclists. It connects Hilpoltstein, Thalmässing and Greding and is also part of the long-distance bike route between Nuremberg and Munich.

Thalmässing also has plenty to offer hikers:

  • Spiel- und Spasswanderweg – a fun trail for families with children
  • Archaeological trail and Celtic village
  • Stopping point on the Frankenweg trail from the Rennsteig ridge walk to the Swabian Jura
  • Stopping point on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage trail (also called the Way of St. James) from Bamberg to Nuremberg and Eichstätt

Our close proximity to the Franconian Lake District – 15 minutes to Rothsee and 25 minutes to Brombachsee by car – also makes us the ideal base for sailing and surfing enthusiasts .

And after a day of strenuous activity, you can relax and unwind in our sauna.
